melissa + hayden's northern wisconsin wedding at stout's island lodge

there is nothing better than a couple and their friends/family embracing a rainy wedding and getting muddy and laughing and BEING in it all. crazy-rainy wedding days are never part of anyone's plans, but i find so much beauty in the embrace of them, as opposed to mourning what could have been. sure, there might not be time or sun for portraits, your ceremony might be cut short, your dress might be drenched, and lawn games might be a no-go, but what does any of that matter? i always want to work with these couples for whom the marriage trumps the wedding day.

i want to write so much about melissa and hayden and their wedding, but i also don't want to explain it away. suffice to say it was one of the warmest days—filled with the warmest people—i've been a part of.

xo, h & m. hope to cross paths again, in san francisco or madison. enjoy just a few below :)
