stout's island lodge wedding: lily + tony

just … G U S H. a weekend at the most magical place, stout’s island lodge, tucked away in wisconsin, where in my experience it always seems to rain at least a little wedding day good luck. lily + tony are two of the most tender-hearted individuals with whom i’ve crossed paths in my wedding adventures. you know the bride’s heart is in the right place when she is [an amazing] professional florist and yet forgets her bouquet because she’s so excited to walk down the aisle and marry tony.

i love it when couples hire me to document the welcome party the night before and when they leave tons of space and time for the unexpected. this is how a documentary wedding photographer can really shine. along those lines, i don’t often recommend couples work with a videographer because they’re oftentimes in conflict with my inconspicuous approach. but courtney rae was an absolute dream to work with. we were always in harmony and she truly has a documentary style as well [a lot of people claim to be documentary but, well, they’re not]. i hope to work with courtney a million more times!

i don’t wax poetic for the hell of it … i’ve seen a lot of weddings at this point, but this one changed me. and now knowing the sea of artistic talent surrounding these two, i’m humbled and grateful to have been so welcomed into this moment in time … asked to document it for allll of time. lily + tony, congratulations…you are loveliness personified. ⚛︎♡⚛︎
