where to start? i’ve written many times about this family. they are dear friends of mine and i’ve been documenting them for many years now, starting back in chicago before kaleen and james were even married. kaleen is an incredible photographer herself so it’s extra-special to be asked year after year to do these documentary family sessions. it warms my heart to know she will have photos that she’s actually in (not just taking). i tell my clients that the most natural family photos happen when it feels like we are all just hanging out together, and that’s exactly what these reflect.
