ah, september weddings. the sun sets a little earlier and the light gets a little glowier. laura and mike came from san francisco to be married near milwaukee's lakefront. i have to say, it was fitting laura wore flowers in her hair. when she spoke of her wedding, she said she envisioned tons of leaves caught in her dress. and i thought, this is my kind of bride ... couple ... wedding ... day. and every last person i met was wonderful.
trees were a big deal at this wedding. from leaves on the ground and in laura's dress, to photos in the woods and branches across the dinner tables. they even took time to plant a tree during their ceremony. said ceremony was followed by a champagne receiving line (brilliant!), that turned into an impromptu champagne cocktail hour on the lawn. the entire day was great, but that stands out as my favorite part. so much joy.
